Description:

A leafless tree grows in the front garden of building 18, which is enclosed by a fence. A spherical float is attached to a branch with a rope. A banner made of a sheet and a bamboo stick lies horizontally rolled up on the lower branches. Attached to a broom in the tree is a ghostly figure made of sheets. The island of Langøya with the access road to Nyksund is visible in the background of the picture.

The image, negative 38 of film and contact sheet 5, is one of 15 b/w 35 mm negative films with 36 exposures each, mostly taken by Wolfgang Eschenhorn, which document the stay of young people from Neukölln in Nyksund from July 18th to August 23rd, 1987.
